An exquisite Antique Georgian Memento Mori ring bezel set with a wonderful black Hardstone with a white Urn hand carved in the centre.

Such macabre imagery was common in Memento Mori jewellery, which literally translates as “Remember you will die”. The morbid themes were not a celebration of death, rather a reminder to live your life well. 

The piece is all 18ct Yellow Gold and features a small glass locket hidden at the back in which a memento can be held. It’s a rare antique find and has been kept in pristine condition throughout the centuries.
